You can be better at anything if you can find meaning and inspiration behind it. You may even find a way to enjoy something that is not fun. Start today and pick out something that you must do regularly. What is the purpose? What does it mean for you? Is it something you enjoy or a chore? Especially if it’s a chore, find a meaning behind it.

Here are some simple examples:

Laundry. Not many of us enjoy washing and folding clothes but the purpose is so we, or our children, can be clean and feel good about how we look in those laundered clothes. You can be proud of how nicely you present yourself in a freshly laundered blouse.

Work. Why do you have to work 8 hours per day? A great purpose for that is put food in our bellies and have a roof over our head. Your purpose may be to save for college for a child or to be able to retire comfortably. You are part of the more fortunate in the world if you have a job.

Today and everyday, make it purposeful.

Does your child complain of aches and pains and you are not sure what it is? I did a bit of research to figure out what the aches may be from that my daughter was experiencing. This is the very basic of what I found out:

Many children experience growing pains. The aches and pains are not sensitive to the touch and it makes them feel better when they are massaged. Ibuprophen and a heating pad works wonders, at least that is what worked for my daughter.

The articles I read cautioned to be wary of any additional symptons such as fever, rashes, swelling, redness or sensitive to the touch. Aches with any additional symptions are probably not growing pains and should be evaluated by a doctor.

How long has it been since you where stung by a bee, bumped your head, or had a blister on your foot from a new pair of shoes?

Today I was stung by a bee and it hurts! It sure is easy to forget how badly something feels until it happens to you again. As part of growing up, our children experience these things more frequently then we do. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could remember just how these things feel (just for a second) so we could administer first aid, affection, and sympathy more thoroughly?
