Today my daughter, who is 10 years old, brought the phone into me because she didn’t understand what was happening. It was a busy signal! I had to explain what it was to her.

A busy signal was a past common occurrence for me but I never thought about the fact that my children have probably never experienced a busy signal. Because so many phone lines have call waiting, you rarely hear a busy signal.
