Taking the time now to organize your child’s room may save you hours of time later.  We just cleaned out and organized my children’s rooms and they are both so much happier.  They can actually find things now and it makes cleaning their rooms so much easier for them.

It not only benefits our family but now we have a very large amount of items that can be given away to others who can use them.  We usually try to find someone we know who can benefit from our items or we take them to the local charity.

Here are some tips for organization:

1) Make sure your child is prepared to give things away before you start cleaning.  Give them a good reason why some items may need to be thrown out, given away to someone less fortunate, etc.

2) Put like items in bins.  This will help them find things and, later, know where to put them away.

3) A small set of shelves make a nice place to display their trophies or pictures and his is where they can also put away books, dvds, and cds.  Shelving is great for items used often if they desigate a spot for the items.  Shelves also help you get things off the floor and free up space.

KISS (Keep it so simple) is my moto!
